    Why not stop by Mud Pond if you're passing through these parts. An average amount of rain falls at Mud Pond; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is February. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Mud Pond. During the moonlight hours it's generally in the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are ordinarily in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. This lake is so  
   wonderful.
While you're here at Mud Pond you can take a hike along the Big Squaw Mountain Trail; obviously, this is a pleasant neighborhood for people who like lakes, Black Brook Pond is a lake in close proximity. The Intake Trail is a good hiking trail right next door to Mud Pond, and if you come at the right time of year, Moxie Stream offers some brilliant whitewater. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Kennebec River, and Bingham Motor Inn is a
 
               good site to get some rest.
This lake is so wonderful. Sugarloaf USA has great slopes and a friendly staff; you're in all probability into lakes, Fish Pond is one of those close by. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Mud Pond has it all. Don't forget to take a great little visit to Black Brook; camping at Northern Outdoors is always a tremendous experience. On a good day at Mud Pond you can take a hike along the Arnolds Trail, and camping is available at Enchanted Outfitters & Lodge.
