     Hiking along the Intake Trail is splendid fun; get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Kennebec River. Stay the night at Enchanted Outfitters & Lodge, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Big Squaw Mountain Trail. An average amount of rain falls at Mud Pond; the month with most of the rain is July, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Northern Outdoors is a good campground nearby, and after a long day outdoors  
   Herbert Grand Hotel is a glorious place to spend a night or two.
You completely should like Mud Pond. While you're here at Mud Pond, you could also pop by wonderful Dead Stream Pond, and do take a hike on the Arnolds Trail. Black Brook flows through this area. At Mud Pond through the summer highs are in the 70's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping
 
               down into the-10's during winter nights.
Horseshoe Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and Bingham Motor Inn is a delightful place to get some rest.
