    Mud Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. All the outdoors cool things right next door to Mud Pond will keep you coming back many times. On a great day you can have a look at Hawthorne Meadow, a swamp near Mud Pond. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Mud Pond has to offer, you can camp at South Branch Lake Camp. There are nice locations to explore along the Hardy Pond Trail, and a wonderful lake like Boyd Lake is a great place  
   to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Alder Brook is in the vicinity of Mud Pond and is always a joy to pop by.
There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Jo-mary Lake Campground is a great place for that; going for a hike on the Scutaze Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Mud Pond gets a normal amount of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most while February is the
 
               month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Piscataquis River close to Mud Pond, and don't leave Mud Pond without first going for a hike along the Carry Trail.
After a long day outdoors Katahdin Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two, and get your heart pumping on the splendid whitewater of Schoodic Stream. At Mud Pond you always meet someone from Bangor, and lakes are such serene spots, why not take a look at Schoodic Lake. Summertime at Mud Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Mud Pond.
