During your journey to Mud Pond you'll meet some folks from Bangor for sure, and there are great locations to explore along the Carry Trail. Mud Pond gets a common amount of rainfall; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. On a magnificent day you can visit Hawthorne Meadow, a swamp next to Mud Pond, and a delightful spot to camp here at Mud Pond is South Branch Lake Camp. This lake is so wonderful. Near Mud

| | Pond you find the Scutaze Trail which is a perfect hiking trail, and you're perhaps addicted to lakes, Schoodic Lake is one of those close by. In case you don’t mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Schoodic Stream; why not camp at Jo-mary Lake Campground if you're here at Mud Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Inn & Suites. Summertime highs at Mud Pond generally tend to be in the 70's. | |

When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's while Mud Pond overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy
this spot. Lakes are great; Boyd Lake is a lake that's near Mud Pond; going for a hike on the Hardy Pond Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Whitewater paddling is nice on Piscataquis River; some of the water close by flows, like Alder Brook.
