Why not take a refreshing hike along the Intake Trail, and Mud Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, South Inlet Campground is a splendid local campground. In case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Wilson Stream; Mud Pond is right by the Big Spencer Mountain Trail. Roach River is a nice whitewater spot close to Mud Pond,       and Big Squaw has great slopes and a friendly staff. During the summer highs here at Mud Pond reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Mud Pond fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a nice choice, and Bingham Motor Inn is a magnificent site to get some rest. If                  only every place had this much outdoors exciting things, what a great earth it would be. Laker Point is near Mud Pond and is a fine spot to go to; hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Number Four Mountain Trail is a good local trail. Mud Pond is not the only place nearby, Prong Pond is a nearby lake, and while you're here, you could explore Mud Brook. You could also visit Tussle Lagoon while you're here at Mud Pond; it's nearby. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a brilliant place for that.
