Kennebec River - East Outlet is a fine whitewater spot close to Mud Pond, and a nice close by hotel is Bingham Motor Inn. Throughout the days of summer, highs usually are in the 70's at Mud Pond, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. During the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows at Mud Pond through the wintertime ordinarily fall into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Mud Pond is right by the Intake       Trail. There's so much to do here at Mud Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Northern Pride Lodge and Campground is a tremendous site for that. The Big Squaw Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; you're perhaps into lakes, Big Notch Pond is one of those nearby. Lakes are pleasant; Little Notch Pond is a lake that's close to Mud Pond, and Mud Pond is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Casey's Spencer Bay Campground is a pleasant local                  campground. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Pond; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most, and February is the month with the least moisture. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining things at Mud Pond.
