    If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to Mud Pond. The Jerry Pond Tote Road offers hiking at its best, and Katahdin Inn is a good place to get some rest. An average amount of precipitation falls at Mud Pond; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month is February. So much exciting stuff near Mud Pond, completely mind-blowing. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Matagamon Tote Road is a pleasant local trail.
 
   High temperatures at Mud Pond through the summer months are in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 50's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for Mud Pond. Little Hay Brook is a wonderful local stream, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Snowshoe Lake Road. Camping is available at Matagamon Wilderness Campground, and there are some great whitewater spots on Shin Brook River.

               lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Shin Pond Village Campground is a good spot to camp; if you come at the right time of year, Millinocket Stream offers some nice whitewater.
