| | spot to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a great choice, and Mud Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Old Farm Inn is a great local campground. Mud Pond gets a common amount of yearly rain; November is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Soar down the rapids of Wytopitlock Stream in a kayak, and paddling on Mattawamkeag River is so much fun.
