For the duration of the summertime, highs typically are in the 70's at Mud Pond. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Mud Pond temperatures descend to the-10's. Cathedral Pines Camping Area is a good campground nearby; Massachusetts Bog Stream is near Mud Pond and is always a joy to stop by. This lake is so wonderful.       Mud Pond is a delightful place to visit for more than one day, Cupsuptic Campground is a delightful place to camp nearby, and if you've had enough of Mud Pond, Round Pond is nearby. The high level of rain makes Mud Pond a relatively wet place; during the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Morrell Trail, and paddling on Moose River - South                  Branch is so much fun. Arnold Pond Dam is not far at all from Mud Pond, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Pond; Arnold Trail is a splendid local trail. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. The Arnold Pond Trail offers hiking at its best; there are swamps here too, Lower Hathan Bog is in close proximity.
