The beauty of Mud Pond is reason enough to stop by. Some of the water nearby flows, like Schoolhouse Brook, and St. Croix Stream has a great whitewater paddling spot close by. This lake is so wonderful. Have a good hiking adventure along the Webster Brook Tote Road, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Squa Pan Stream. | | outdoors Katahdin Lodge is a nice location to spend a night or two. A tremendous close by hotel is Four Seasons Inn. An average amount of precipitation falls at Mud Pond; most of the rain falls through July, and February on the other hand is the driest. During the long summer days at Mud Pond highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mud Pond plunge into the-10's.
