Through the months of summer here at Mud Pond, high temperatures generally reach the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. There's nice hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Mattawamkeag River - East Branch. The summit of Byron Mountain can be spotted from Mud Pond, and Wilde Pines Campground is a brilliant campground nearby. Shiretown Motor Inn is a delightful site to get some rest, and if you've had enough of Mud Pond, Mud Lake is close by. Mud Pond gets a typical amount of rain;                  July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. But wait, there's more to do near Mud Pond. Gotta ski!
