Mud Pond is right by the Pierce Tote Road. If the weather is pretty, you obtain a brilliant vista of Byron Mountain from Mud Pond, and a tremendous location to camp here at Mud Pond is My Brothers Place. This lake is so wonderful. Meduxnekeag River - South Branch has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and if you need a location to stay Shiretown Motor Inn is a magnificent choice. Be careful       coming to Mud Pond, you might not ever wanna return back home again. Camping is available at Wilde Pines Campground; there are other spots here than Mud Pond, for example Beaver Brook Lake. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch, and Bigrock is a very popular ski area around here. Going for a hike along the Potters Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and lakes are such serene                  places, why not visit Mud Lake. Hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road is wonderful fun, and dry warm beds await you at Scottish Inns Houlton. Through the summertime at Mud Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows throughout the winter for Mud Pond tend to be in the 0's.
