This is a delightful vicinity for people who like lakes. Bishop Pond is a lake close by, and if you came to camp Clover Hill Campground is a nice place to do that. Summertime at Mud Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 10's with temperatures at Mud Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights.       There's just no way someone can get bored here at Mud Pond. Don't leave Mud Pond without first going for a hike along the Island Pond Trail, and get your heart pumping on the nice whitewater of Fish River. Mud Pond gets a common amount of annual rain; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Machias River next to Mud Pond, and the Fox Brook Trail offers hiking at its                  best. Camping at Umcolcus Sporting Camps is always a magnificent experience, and after a long day outdoors Crown Park Inn is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. On a pretty day you get a sight of Carr Pond Mountain from Mud Pond, and there's pleasant hiking along the Round Trail.
