Hiking along the Round Trail is pleasant fun. Mud Pond is right by the Island Pond Trail, and getting to Bald Mountain Brook from Mud Pond is easy. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Mud Pond. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. Highs through the winter are mostly in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Mud Pond. This       lake is so wonderful. Machias River is a brilliant whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Mud Pond; there are other locations here than Mud Pond, for example Clayton Lake. An average amount of rainfall falls at Mud Pond; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. You can run the rapids of Fish River close to Mud Pond, and if you came to camp Clover Hill Campground is a delightful place to do                  that.
