Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Meduxnekeag River - South Branch; while you're here you can take a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road. Camping at Wilde Pines Campground is always a brilliant experience, and if you need a spot to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a delightful choice. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Coffin Brook is a       picturesque stream that is worth a visit, and there's whitewater on B Stream for all you adrenaline people. Mud Lake is a good site of typical precipitation; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Not far from Mud Lake, you'll stumble on Hunter Pond which is a striking lake; if you like swamps you're in luck, Coffin Bog is right close by. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Potters                  Trail; what would winter be without some skiing at Bigrock. Throughout the summer months here at Mud Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's; the overnight is a bit colder of course, commonly in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows in the 0's for Mud Lake. Shiretown Motor Inn is a great place to get some rest; Mud Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, My Brothers Place is a fine local campground. Have a tremendous hiking adventure along the Pierce Tote Road.
