Scottish Inns Houlton is a delightful site to get some rest; a wonderful location to camp here at Mud Lake is Wilde Pines Campground. High temperatures at Mud Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while the       cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 0's. A common amount of precipitation falls here at Mud Lake; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. After a long day outdoors Shiretown Motor Inn is a perfect site to spend a night or two, and don't miss out on a pleasant swamp; Coffin Bog is right here at Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. The snow is tremendous at Bigrock; you can go for a hike                  on the Potters Trail. Having a pleasant time at Mud Lake is easy. There's perfect hiking along the Kennedy Tote Road, and you can run the rapids of Meduxnekeag River - South Branch. Don't leave Mud Lake without first going for a hike along the Pierce Tote Road, obviously you could also take a look at Hunter Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Coffin Brook is one of the streams nearby that might be worth checking out, and camping at My Brothers Place is always a great experience.   Scottish Inns Houlton, Houlton 9 miles away Our Motel is in the center of the Houlton area.
