From a precipitation point of view Mountain View Pond is a reasonably typical site; throughout the month of July you get the most rain around here; February is the month with the least moisture. All through the warm months at Mountain View Pond temperatures are generally in the 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. For the period of the winter highs are regularly in the       20's; nighttime lows at Mountain View Pond during the wintertime mostly drop into the-10's. Good hiking is available along the Intake Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake. Get your pulse rate up on the great whitewater of Kennebec River - East Outlet, and Caseys Spencer Bay Campground is a nice campground nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Mountain View Pond without first going for a hike along the Big Squaw Mountain                  Trail, and you can stay the night at Northern Pride Lodge and Campground. A tremendous site for whitewater paddling close to Mountain View Pond is Kennebec River - West Outlet, and if you need a place to stay Bingham Motor Inn is a great choice.
