    Why not stop by Montello Heights Reservoir if you're passing through these parts. Nezinscot River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by, and swing by Jepson Brook it's a wonderful site to explore. The high level of rain makes Montello Heights Reservoir a pretty wet site; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most, and September is when it's the driest. Golf can be played at Fox Ridge Golf Club, and a spree  
   to Auburn Municipal Beach is always a good idea.
The wonderful folks of Lewiston-Auburn like to hang out close by, and a perfect spot to camp here at Montello Heights Reservoir is Allen Pond Campground. Just can't get enough of Montello Heights Reservoir. There's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Deer Rips Dam in the neighborhood of Montello Heights Reservoir; dry warm beds await you at Travelodge Lewiston. A short visit to Highland
 
               Spring is always worthwhile, and Montello Heights Reservoir is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Maine Campground Owners Association is a pleasant local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Apple Sass Hill is clearly visible from Montello Heights Reservoir, and Ramada Inn Conference Center Lewiston/Auburn is a fine location to get some rest. Through the warmest time of the year, highs usually are in the 80's at Montello Heights Reservoir. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Montello Heights Reservoir. So many exciting things to do at Montello Heights Reservoir, so little time. A swamp like Garcelon Bog in close proximity to Montello Heights Reservoir has lots of exciting things to see.
A lake nearby is Lake Andrews, and why not head up to Lost Valley and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is so wonderful. Montello Heights Reservoir is not the only place nearby, Androscoggin River Reservoir is a nearby lake, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chandler Brook.

Fun short spot, We made it a overnight trip and had a good old time. There needs to be a bunch of water in this stream to even make it doable. on 4/20 we were scooting-ass over many shallow spots in our yaks. Fun drops with laziness inbetween make for a good time especially for the novice....
