Hiking along the Sweets Trail is magnificent fun, and if you get bored of Monson Lake you could also explore nearby Deep Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Pierce Tote Road, and after a long day outdoors Scottish Inns Houlton is a perfect location to spend a night or two. Monson Lake gets a normal       amount of annual rain; the wettest month of the year is generally July, that's the one that rains the most while February is mostly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. A glorious close by hotel is Shiretown Motor Inn. Very charming scenery and wonderful skiing is what you get at Bigrock; a delightful site for whitewater paddling is B Stream. For the period of the warm days of summer at Monson Lake temperatures are usually in the 70's, and throughout                  summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Monson Lake. Monson Lake in fact is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Monson Lake has to offer, you can camp at My Brothers Place, and going for a hike along the Kennedy Tote Road will let you absorb the natural beauty of this neighborhood.
