Maine has many beautiful lakes and Mink Pond is one of them. An average amount of rainfall falls at Mink Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Little Black Check Point is a splendid campground nearby. Dead Horse Gulch is next to Mink Pond and is a pleasant site, and Lakeview Campgrounds is a splendid local campground. | | high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Mink Pond plunge into the-10's. Paddling on Musquacook Stream is so much fun, and there's good hiking along the Rocky Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Big Brook River, and tremendous hiking is available along the Fox Brook Trail.
