Little Black Check Point is a splendid campground nearby. Dead Horse Gulch is next to Mink Pond and is a pleasant site, and Lakeview Campgrounds is a splendid local campground. For the period of the months of summer here at Mink Pond,       high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 10's; after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Mink Pond plunge into the-10's. Paddling on Musquacook Stream is so much fun, and there's good hiking along the Rocky Mountain Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
