This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave Millinocket Lake without first going for a hike along the Eagle Lake Tote Road, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Big Marsh Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. There are fine sites to explore along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Millinocket Stream.       Good hiking is available along the Freezeout Road, and Matagamon Wilderness Campground is a glorious campground nearby. Be careful coming to Millinocket Lake, you might not ever want to go home again. A glorious close by hotel is Katahdin Inn; Millinocket Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, South Branch Pond Campground is a great place to camp nearby. Nearby lakes? Sure, Kyle Pond is right next door to Millinocket Lake, and if you come at                  the right time of year, Munsungan Stream offers some pleasant whitewater. Throughout the summertime months, highs generally are in the 70's at Millinocket Lake. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Millinocket Lake dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights.
