Titcomb is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and Mill Pond Dam has brilliant water scenery. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look at close by Flying Pond; a perfect location to camp here at Mill Pond is Five Seasons Campground. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Sandy River, and needless to say Mill Stream flows through this area. Have a great hiking adventure along the Appalachian National Scenic

Lakes are nice; Black Pond is a lake that's in the vicinity of Mill Pond, and the summit of Berry Hill can be seen from Mill Pond. If you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn & Suites is a tremendous choice, and why not camp at Camp Laurel if you're here at Mill Pond. November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. This lake is so wonderful. You're sure to encounter some great folks from Augusta-Waterville here, and if you come at the right time of year, Wilson
Stream offers some tremendous whitewater. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Mill Pond, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, usually in the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mill Pond are in the 0's.

Eaton Mountain
 | 21 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
