    If you like lakes and you're in this part of Maine you can check out Mill Pond. On a splendid day at Mill Pond you can take a hike along the Peaked Mountain Trail, and after a long day outdoors White Birches Country Club is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. A lake close by is Branch Lake; do stop at Howards Brook while you're here at Mill Pond.
So many entertaining things to do at Mill Pond, so little time. There are some magnificent whitewater spots
 
   on Union River, and a golf course close by is White Birches Motel & Golf Course. Going for a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Jesse Beach. Twilite Motel is a great spot to get some rest; why not go to Branch Lake Dam if you're here.
This lake is so wonderful. From Mill Pond you obtain a perfect vista of Dollard Hill, and a day at Hales Beach
 
               is time well spent. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Mill Pond that you need to camp here for a while, The Gatherings Family Campground is a great place for that, unsurprisingly you could also explore Lower Patten Pond while you're here; it's not far at all. This place is so good, just explore all the fun stuff to do next to Mill Pond. Loon Cove is not far from Mill Pond at all. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Mill Pond has to offer, you can camp at Patten Pond Camping Resort.
If the weather is magnificent here at Mill Pond, you can go for a hike along the Blue Hill Trail; get yourself into a kayak and hit Branch Lake Stream. At Mill Pond through the summer highs are in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mill Pond are in the 0's. The yearly precipitation here at Mill Pond is about average; during the month of November you get the most rain around here; the driest month of the year is February.

No good fishing in this pond.  Don't waste your time.  No one goes here because it is polluted and no good fishing. Unless you like catching sunnies.  Was run out by a guy named Ed.  For a real pond adventure save your time and money and go nort....

We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness....
