Throughout the summertime months highs here at Messalonskee Lake reach the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Messalonskee Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. From       a rain point of view Messalonskee Lake is a relatively typical site; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. There is a glorious hiking trail near Messalonskee Lake called the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Budget Host Airport Inn Waterville is a great spot to get some rest. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this location. A glorious site for whitewater paddling                  in the vicinity of Messalonskee Lake is Sebasticook River, and needless to say, this is a magnificent vicinity for people who like lakes, McGrath Pond is a lake close by. Messalonskee Lake is a delightful site to visit for more than one day, Woodrest Camps is a delightful site to camp nearby, and if you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sheepscot River - West Branch. Pleasant Point Park is a delightful local campground, and after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Waterville/Augusta ME is a great place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. You're probably into lakes, Messalonskee Stream Reservoir is one of those nearby.
