Campground is a magnificent local campground. Mount Bett is beautiful and can be seen from Mercer Bog, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy River. Nearby lakes?
Sure, North Pond is in the neighborhood of Mercer Bog, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. A magnificent place to camp here at Mercer Bog is Sunset Camps; whitewater paddling is fine
on Wesserunsett Stream. Mercer Bog is a rather wet place ordinarily with a lot of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
The smiling people of Augusta-Waterville like to hang out nearby; Eaton Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood.

Eaton Mountain

The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park.
