East Pond is a lake in close proximity, and getting to Bog Stream from Mercer Bog is easy. Through       the days of summer here at Mercer Bog, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mercer Bog temperatures plunge to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn & Suites, and Mercer Bog is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Maine Roads                  Campground is a magnificent local campground. Mount Bett is beautiful and can be seen from Mercer Bog, and if you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy River. Nearby lakes? Sure, North Pond is in the neighborhood of Mercer Bog, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. A magnificent place to camp here at Mercer Bog is Sunset Camps; whitewater paddling is fine on Wesserunsett Stream. Mercer Bog is a rather wet place ordinarily with a lot of precipitation; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February meanwhile is the driest month. This lake is so wonderful.
