Pitcher Pond
 | Pitcher Pond is the picturesque lake to swim, boat, sail, or kayak. We own a cabin on the pond, and it is great to just get away from everything for the summer. The water is very warm, and my kids enjoy sailing our small sunfish. We have a beautiful view from across the pond, and we see no houses.... |
Lobster Buoy Campsite
 | My family and I camped at Lobster Buoy when I was 13. So many years ago....and so many memories. We were visiting my son, Matt, last May and got lost. I noticed a sign by the road and rememberred the turn. It was as beautiful and for a short while I was young again....I have been going to Lobster Buoy in South Thomaston, ME almost every summer for the past 20 years. It's my family's favorite campsite. Small, family friendly but not with the luxuries you find at other campgrounds - which is the whole point of camping! There's beaches to explore, boats to rent, the Lobster Festival in Rockland, several lighthouses nearby like Owlhead just up the road and Marshall Point in Port Clyde - which, by the way, is the lighthouse that Forrest Gump runs up on his cross-country run! So many fun things to do, and lots of peace and quiet with a huge beach make for a great campsite for those who want to get away and spend time outdoors. ... |
