    If you are traveling by, why not stop by McWain Pond. So much entertaining stuff to do at McWain Pond, so little time. A tremendous nearby hotel is Bear Mountain Inn; swing by McIntire Brook it's a magnificent site to check out. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Albany Brook Trail, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Crooked River. This lake is so wonderful. Here at McWain Pond you can distinguish Baker  
   Hill; not far from McWain Pond you'll hit upon Bog Pond which is a stunning lake.
If you need a place to stay Waterford Inn is a glorious choice. You'll need more than a day to discover everything McWain Pond has to offer, you can camp at Vacationland Campground. This lake is so wonderful. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Shawnee Peak. Stay the night at Papoose Pond Camping Resort, and if the weather is delightful, you can go for a hike along
 
               the Albany Notch Trail.
Summertime brings highs in the 70's to McWain Pond. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are typically in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at McWain Pond fall into the-10's. Really nice skiing awaits you at Mount Abram; going for a hike along the Albany Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. An average amount of rain falls at McWain Pond; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is ordinarily the driest month.
