A typical amount of rain falls here at McWain Pond; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain while February is generally the driest month. Through the summer at McWain Pond highs are ordinarily in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the duration of the winter       highs are in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the-10's for McWain Pond. You just have to like McWain Pond. Near McWain Pond you find the Albany Brook Trail which is a fine hiking trail, and soar down the rapids of Crooked River in a kayak. This lake is so wonderful. You're most likely into lakes, Bog Pond is one of those nearby, and of course McIntire Brook is a wonderful stream that is worth visiting. If you came to camp Vacationland Campground is a magnificent                  location to do that, and Mount Abram is a very popular ski area nearby. There's so much to do here at McWain Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Papoose Pond Camping Resort is a pleasant location for that, and going for a hike on the Albany Mountain Trail is always a good adventure. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Albany Notch Trail. Lakes are pleasant; Keoka Lake is a lake that's right next door to McWain Pond.
