McPherson Pond in fact is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. The Rocky Mountain Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to McPherson Pond. Cross Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop by, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Falls Brook. Yankeetuladi Brook is a glorious local stream, and if you came for an overnight                  stay Little Black Check Point is a good site to camp. For the period of the summer months at McPherson Pond highs are regularly in the 70's while night lows are regularly in the 50's.
