McPherson Lake is a good site of normal rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. B Stream is a tremendous whitewater spot close to McPherson Lake, and if you need a location to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a great choice.       Good hiking is available along the Sweets Trail; Mars Hill Dam is gorgeous. Now, you may feel that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at McPherson Lake. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Bigrock, and playing golf is lots of fun at Mars Hill Country Club. Wilde Pines Campground is a nice campground nearby, and swing by Boynton Brook it's a nice place to have a look at. Dry warm beds await you at Shiretown Motor                  Inn, and McPherson Lake is a tremendous location to visit for more than one day, Neil E Michaud Campground is a tremendous location to camp nearby. You can run the rapids of Aroostook River close to McPherson Lake, and there's delightful hiking along the Pierce Tote Road. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to McPherson Lake with night lows in the 50's.
