If you like lakes and you're in this part of Maine you can check out McKeen Lake. There's whitewater on Big Brook River for all you adrenaline junkies, and if you need a place to stay Hunter's Inn is a good choice. Throughout the months of summer at McKeen Lake temperatures are commonly in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to McKeen Lake.

good location of typical rain; August is the month that gets the most rain; February is the month with the least moisture. You can run the rapids of St. John River in close proximity to McKeen Lake, and nearby you come across the Fox Brook Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail.
