If you are in this part of Maine make sure to pay a visit to McKeen Lake. A typical amount of rain falls here at McKeen Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and February on the other hand is the driest. Camping at Lakeview Campgrounds is always a delightful experience, and there are some perfect whitewater spots on St. John River. | | rather chillier of course, commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 10's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to McKeen Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Little Black Check Point; you can go for a hike on the Rocky Mountain Trail. If you come at the right time of year, Big Brook River offers some fine whitewater, and don't leave McKeen Lake without first going for a hike along the Fox Brook Trail.
