McGilvry Pond is a good place of common precipitation; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is February. A glorious nearby hotel is Americas Best Value Heritage Motor Inn, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Shin Brook       River. This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at McGilvry Pond you can take a hike along the Snowshoe Lake Road, and Squa Pan Stream is a wonderful whitewater spot nearby. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at McGilvry Pond. Near McGilvry Pond you come across the Old Dam Tote Road which is a good hiking trail, and you can stay the night at Homestead Lodge. Do explore Cranberry Pond near McGilvry Pond, it's a lovely lake. Summertime brings                  highs in the 70's to McGilvry Pond. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's; winter nights come with lows in the-10's to McGilvry Pond.
