The beauty of Massacre Pond is reason enough to stop by. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Wild Acres Family Camping Resort is a great site to camp; a good nearby hotel is The Higgins Beach Inn. This lake is so wonderful. A spree to Black Rock is always fun, and a wonderful lake like Mill Brook is a splendid location to explore. A quick trip to Jones Creek in the vicinity of Massacre Pond is a brilliant idea; if you come at the right

| | time of year, Chandler Brook offers some pleasant whitewater. Why not camp at Bayley's Camping Resort while you're here at Massacre Pond; a day at Scarborough Beach is time well spent. If you need a spot to stay Lighthouse Inn at Pine Point is a delightful choice, and while you're here here do stop by nearby Western Beach. All through the months of summer at Massacre Pond temperatures are usually in the 70's, and the nighttime is a bit colder of course, | |

Clean restrooms and laundry, paved roads, friendly and helpful staff, and what a view over the 3000 acre Audubon Property. A canoe or kayak ride is a must! Very close to the Eastern Trail for a scenic hike of nature and wildlife. A tranquil setting but yet close to shopping, fine dining and the beach. Not many activities on site, but no noise either. Also, a strong WiFi signal was nice for a change and cable TV with 70 channels at our level site. Highly recommend if staying for a week, month or the season. Plenty to do in the area.... |

You’ll want to spend at least a day in Portland, a beautiful and very walkable, harbor front city.

I'd recommend LOTS of bug sprays as the mosquitoes tend to swarm and are very plentiful this year. If you're not a fisherman but your children are...there are picnic tables for you to enjoy a book, needlepoint, or just relax and take in the fresh air.... |
