Hoyt Brook flows through this region, and camping at Camp Laurel is always a fine experience. Get wet paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream, and Maranacook Lake Upper Dam has good water scenery. Lower Narrows Pond is a nearby lake that you could check out, and after a long day outdoors Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn is a great spot to spend a night

Here at Maranacook Lake you'll almost certainly meet some folks from Augusta-Waterville. Maranacook Lake is a wet place that gets much rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Summertime highs at Maranacook Lake mostly tend to be in the 70's, and the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, generally in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and overnight lows through the winter
for Maranacook Lake tend to be in the 0's. Good hiking is available along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Winthrop Motel is a fine site to get some rest.
