Manton Pond is a good site of common precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is February. A cool spot to check out right next door to Manton Pond is Owls Head, and on a brilliant day you can take a hike along the Munsungan Lake Tote Road. This lake is so wonderful. A pretty lake like Scraggly Lake close to Manton Pond is a nice place to check out, and going for a hike along       the Matagamon Tote Road will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. But wait, there's more to do near Manton Pond. A great location for whitewater paddling in the vicinity of Manton Pond is Munsungan Stream. There's so much to do here at Manton Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a fine place for that. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn.
