Balsam woods Campground is a delightful campground nearby; the peak of Devils Head can be distinguished from Mainstream Pond. This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Pittsfield Motor Inn; do stop at Mud Pond, it's a scenic lake. The high level of precipitation makes Mainstream Pond a reasonably wet place; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. | | Sugar Hill, a swamp near Mainstream Pond, and get soaked paddling on Kingsbury Stream. You clearly should adore Mainstream Pond. Comfort Inn & Suites is a nice site to get some rest; Lake Como is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. Way's Campground is a perfect place to camp. Summertime highs at Mainstream Pond usually tend to be in the 70's, and the night is a bit colder of course, commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are generally in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Mainstream Pond are in the-10's.

Eaton Mountain
 | 18 miles away 3 PHOTOS Eaton Mountain provides affordable and convenient skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing to the greater Waterville/Skowhegan area. The mountain boasts a suprising variety of terrain for a compact ski area including glades, challenging steeps, and classic New England style trails. Most of the area is covered with snowmaking and is lit for nightskiiing. Equipment rentals and lessons are available. The base lodge has a snackbar and provides a place to warm up by the wood stove and meet friends. The ski area has new owners as of November 2008 and will not be operating for the 2008-09 ski season. The new owners will be taking the time to make improvements and prepare for a grand reopening in the fall of 2009. Immediate improvements are planned to include an all new snowtubing facility and widening of the Moose slope for a new terrain park. The ski area is located on Lambert Road, just off Route 2 between Skowhegan and Canaan.... |
