This lake is so wonderful. A splendid nearby hotel is Pittsfield Motor Inn; do stop at Mud Pond, it's a scenic lake. The high level of precipitation makes Mainstream Pond a reasonably wet place; all through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is February. On a wonderful day you can explore       Sugar Hill, a swamp near Mainstream Pond, and get soaked paddling on Kingsbury Stream. You clearly should adore Mainstream Pond. Comfort Inn & Suites is a nice site to get some rest; Lake Como is a nearby lake that you could pop by. This lake is so wonderful. Church Brook is a delightful site to stop at, and paddling on Sebasticook River is so much fun. Skiing at Eaton Mountain is one of those things you just should do; if you came for an overnight stay Nature                  Way's Campground is a perfect place to camp. Summertime highs at Mainstream Pond usually tend to be in the 70's, and the night is a bit colder of course, commonly in the 50's.
