     If you like skiing, you're in luck; Saddleback is near Lufkin Pond, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Brook Trail. The skiing at Black Mountain is glorious, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Sandy River - South Branch. If you need a site to stay The Perennial Inn is a fine choice, and Rowe Hill is beautiful and can be seen from here. No way I can stop, cause I'm havin' a fine time here at Lufkin Pond. You could also stop by Stetson  
   Pond since you're here at Lufkin Pond; it's close by, and a delightful place to camp here at Lufkin Pond is Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Looking for something close to Lufkin Pond? Pearl Pond is close at hand, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sandy River. Near Lufkin Pond you come across the Chimney Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail, and camping at Dummer's
 
               Beach is always a great experience. Jont Stream is in the vicinity of Lufkin Pond and is always a pleasure to stop at.
This lake is so wonderful. The Piazza Rock Trail is a brilliant hiking trail near Lufkin Pond, and dry warm beds await you at Wilson Lake Inn. All through the days of summer at Lufkin Pond highs are frequently in the 70's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Lufkin Pond descend into the-10's. Lufkin Pond gets a normal amount of annual rainfall; August is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest.

Today I finished a kayak trip from Strong, Maine and took out at Osoola Park in Norridgewock. It took a day and three quarters. The bridge in New Sharon is by far  the largest waves just under the bridge. Tired arms went through that at the near end of day. The water after that is fast for about an hour after that. Need to pay attention....
