If you came for an overnight stay Shin Pond Village Campground is a great site to camp, and Lower Shin Pond is not the only place nearby, Davis Pond is a nearby lake. Take a side journey to Sucker Brook, and Allen Hill can be seen from Lower Shin Pond. Lower Shin Pond is a good location of typical rain; July is the wettest month with most rain; February is when it's the driest. This lake       is so wonderful. Seboeis River is a great whitewater spot next to Lower Shin Pond, needless to say you could also explore Upper Shin Pond since you're here; it's not far at all. This place is excellent, just explore all the enjoyable stuff to do right next door to Lower Shin Pond. A fine spot for whitewater paddling close to Lower Shin Pond is Shin Brook River, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lower Shin Pond; American Thread Company Road is a tremendous                  local trail. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Lower Shin Pond, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, frequently in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's with winter lows in the-10's overnight here at Lower Shin Pond. Lower Shin Pond is right by the Jerry Pond Tote Road; why not take a refreshing hike along the Snowshoe Lake Road. This lake is so wonderful.
