Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Little Spencer Stream, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lower Shaw Pond; Arnolds Trail is a good local trail. High temperatures at Lower Shaw Pond all through the days       of summer are in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Through the winter the highs are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Lower Shaw Pond dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. You could also visit Spring Lake if you're here at Lower Shaw Pond; it's close by, and you can go for a hike on the Fire Warden Trail. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Lower Shaw Pond has to offer,                  you can camp at Crocker Mountain Cirque Campground, and Saddleback is a very popular ski area close by. A lake nearby is Shaw Pond; great hiking is available along the Bigelow Range Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A fine swamp near Lower Shaw Pond is Spencer Gut.
