     You can run the rapids of Penobscot River - South Branch near Lower First Saint John Pond, and do take a hike on the Alder Brook Trail. High temperatures at Lower First Saint John Pond during the summertime are in the 70's while night lows are generally in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Lower First Saint John Pond. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun. This  
   lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Lower First Saint John Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Old Mill Camping Area is a delightful site for that, and a gorgeous lake like Upper First Saint John Pond is a great place to check out.
From a rain point of view Lower First Saint John Pond is a reasonably typical site; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is February.
 
               Lower First Saint John Pond is good enough to spend more than a day at, Seboomook wilderness Campground is a good local campground, and there's whitewater on Penobscot River - North Branch for all you adrenaline kick people. If you need a place to stay Lodge at Moosehead Lake is a good choice, and do have a look at Little Lane Pond, it's a pretty lake.

This is the web site for Seboomoook Wilderness Campground. Yes they are still there and it's still beautiful! Their phone number is at their web site. They have a new email address but I don't know what it is....
My family and I have been to seboomook campground for the last 7 years, Its beautiful, friendly and a great place to spend some time. When planning this years trip I have discovered that I cannot get to the web page,(when going to that page a porno site comes up) and the number I had made reservations on for the last 7 years is not in service. I dont understand this?...Is it still there???...
