The amount of rain that falls at Lost Pond is close to the national average; through July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. If you come at the right time of year, Nesowadnehunk Stream River offers some wonderful whitewater; swing by Hudson Brook it's a magnificent place to explore. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Lost Pond; all through summer nights temperatures       are in the 50's. All through the wintertime highs are commonly in the 20's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Lost Pond tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Big Squaw has nice slopes and a friendly staff, and close by you find the Eagle Lake Tote Road which is a perfect hiking trail. Man, is there a load of fun things to do near Lost Pond. If you came for an overnight stay Chimney Pond Campground is a magnificent site to camp, and                  there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Freezeout Road. The top of Kennedy Bog is easily seen from Lost Pond, and going for a hike on the Old Pogy Road is always a great adventure.
