    Lost Pond is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Hardy Pond Trail, and Comfort Inn Bangor is a tremendous location to get some rest. Through the warm days of summer at Lost Pond highs are typically in the 70's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 20's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Lost Pond tend to be in  
   the 0's. Lost Pond is a brilliant place to visit for more than one day, Pushaw Lake Campground is a brilliant place to camp nearby; if you come at the right time of year, Kenduskeag Stream offers some nice whitewater.
There are some nice whitewater spots on Piscataquis River. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby New Hermon Mountain; not far from Lost Pond you'll find Pickerel Pond which is a lovely lake. This lake is so wonderful. You're
 
               sure to come across some friendly people from Bangor here; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by close by Pug Pond.
The high level of rainfall makes Lost Pond a reasonably wet place; November is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Shore Road Trail offers hiking at its best, and if you need a location to stay Best Western Black Bear Inn & Conference Center is a splendid choice. Just can't get enough of Lost Pond. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Lost Pond; Scutaze Trail is a good local trail. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Lost Pond has to offer, you can camp at Villa Vaughn Campground.
Take a side journey to Greenland Brook, and don't miss out on a perfect swamp; Fitz Bog is right here at Lost Pond.
