A visit to Lost Pond is always a good idea. The Snowshoe Lake Road is a splendid hiking trail close to Lost Pond; some of the water close by flows, like Batch Brook. Throughout the long summer days, highs typically are in the 70's at Lost Pond, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are regularly in the 20's with temperatures at Lost Pond dipping down into the-10's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful.

| | A fine nearby hotel is Katahdin Inn, and if you've had enough of Lost Pond, Snowshoe Lake is nearby. This place, Lost Pond, it truly has so much outdoors cool stuff. Jameson Ridge is simple to spot from Lost Pond, and whitewater paddling is fine on Shin Brook River. Camping is available at Homestead Lodge, and almost certainly you're looking for nearby lakes? Lake Tote Road which is a good hiking trail, and why not pop by Pickerel Point also while you're here. Camping at Umcolcus Sporting Camps is always a delightful experience, and get covered with water paddling on Seboeis River.
This lake is so wonderful. There is a good hiking trail near Lost Pond called the Matagamon Tote Road, and a swamp like Lower Deadwater close to Lost Pond has lots of interesting things to see. Lost Pond is a good place of common rain; July is when you get the most rain here while February is frequently the driest month.
