If you like lakes and you're in this part of Maine you can check out Lost Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Gulliver Brook is in the vicinity of Lost Pond and is always a pleasure to visit; if you came to camp Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a wonderful spot to do that. There's so much to do here at Lost Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park is a brilliant site for that; in case you don’t have a problem getting covered with water,

| | you can always go whitewater paddling on Macwahoc Stream. Lost Pond is a good spot of common rainfall; November is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. All through the months of summer highs here at Lost Pond get into the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures drop down into the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are frequently in the 20's, and nighttime lows in the 0's for Lost Pond. If you need a place to stay Katahdin Inn is a pleasant choice; whitewater paddling is pleasant on Mattawamkeag River.
