If you came to camp Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds is a good spot to do that; you can run the rapids of Mattawamkeag River - East Branch. Throughout the warmest time of the year at Lost Pond temperatures are mostly in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. All through       the wintertime highs are frequently in the 20's with temperatures at Lost Pond dipping down into the-10's throughout winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Kennedy Tote Road; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like VA Jo WA Golf Club Walker. After a long day outdoors Scottish Inns Houlton is a great place to spend a night or two, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not visit Pleasant                  Lake. You think that's enough? Lost Pond is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Bear Mountain Lodge is a wonderful local campground, and while you're here you can take a hike along the Pierce Tote Road. Lost Pond gets a typical amount of annual rainfall; the wettest month of the year is typically July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February.
