A great nearby hotel is Scottish Inns Houlton. Summertime highs at Lost Pond mostly tend to be in the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are mostly in the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Lost Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Kennedy Tote Road; Mattawamkeag Lake is a nice lake nearby. From a precipitation point of view       Lost Pond is a quite typical place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and February is when it's the driest. Birch Point is in the vicinity and always great to go to, and if you come at the right time of year, Mattawamkeag River - West Branch offers some wonderful whitewater. If you're here at Lost Pond and you like golf, you can visit VA Jo WA Golf Club Walker, and camping is available at Birch Point Lodge Campgrounds. Hiking                  along the Pierce Tote Road is pleasant fun, and there are some good whitewater spots on Mattawamkeag River - East Branch. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Lakes?
