    It's always fun to stop by Lost Pond. The amount of rain that falls at Lost Pond is close to the national average; throughout July this area sees the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. This lake is so wonderful. Homestead Lodge is a tremendous campground nearby; if you come at the right time of year, Munsungan Stream offers some fine whitewater. Umcolcus Sporting Camps is a great local campground, and there's magnificent hiking along the  
   Mooseleuk Tote Road.
Don't leave Lost Pond without first going for a hike along the Round Trail, and at Lost Pond you can make out Center Mountain. Summer at Lost Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. During the wintertime highs are mostly in the 20's, and all through the dark hours in the winter at Lost Pond temperatures dip to the-10's. Katahdin Inn is a perfect place to get some rest, and the Millinocket
 
               Lake Tote Road offers hiking at its best.
Any time is a tremendous time at Lost Pond if you love the outdoors. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Millinocket Stream.
