This lake is so wonderful. On a tremendous day at Loon Pond you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. At Loon Pond through the months of summer highs are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows throughout       the winter for Loon Pond tend to be in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Enjoy a round of golf at Meadows Golf Course not far from Loon Pond; Springer Hill is clearly visible from Loon Pond. A good nearby hotel is Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn, and there are other sites here than Loon Pond, for example Mud Pond. Now, you may believe that's a lot but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Loon Pond. Cobbosseecontee Stream has a glorious whitewater                  paddling spot nearby; Mill Pond Dam is scenic. Loon Pond frequently gets much rainfall; during the month of November you get the most rain around here, and September meanwhile is the driest month. Paddling on Cathance River is so much fun, and a perfect place to camp here at Loon Pond is Augusta West Lakeside Resort.
