For the period of the days of summer highs here at Loon Pond reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Loon Pond tend to be in the 10's. While you're here at Loon Pond you can take a hike along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a       location to stay Winthrop Motel is a good choice, and a good place to camp here at Loon Pond is Augusta West Lakeside Resort. That right there is a load already, but it goes on; Loon Pond has it all. Playing golf is lots of fun at Meadows Golf Course; you'll meet a lot of people from Augusta-Waterville here. Float down the rapids of Cathance River in a kayak, and Loon Pond is glorious enough to spend more than a day at, The Birches Campground is a glorious                  local campground. A great nearby hotel is Maple Hill Farm B & B Inn; there's some out of the ordinary stuff to catch a glimpse of at Mill Pond Dam near Loon Pond. Loon Pond gets a lot of water; most of the rain falls all through November, and September meanwhile is the driest month. A wonderful sight of beautiful Springer Hill is available from Loon Pond, and paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream is so much fun.   Winthrop Motel, Winthrop 7 miles away Located 1.5 miles from scenic downtown Winthrop.
