Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Longley Lake. On a good day at Longley Lake you can take a hike along the Potters Trail, and not far from Longley Lake you'll find Longfellow Lake which is a pretty lake. Some close by water includes Deering Brook. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Meduxnekeag River       - South Branch, and you are right next door to Peters Cove if you're here. Greenland Cove Campground is a great campground nearby, and there are other sites here than Longley Lake, for example Brackett Lake. A wonderful site for whitewater paddling near Longley Lake is Baskahegan Stream, and Shiretown Motor Inn is a splendid place to get some rest. Longley Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and                  February is the month with the least moisture. If you need a spot to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a great choice, and Mountain View Campground is a delightful local campground. Through the summer months at Longley Lake highs are commonly in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's.
