There's some flowing water nearby, Deering Brook is a stream you can stop by while here, and a magnificent nearby hotel is Shiretown Motor Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Mountain View Campground is a nice campground nearby; there's whitewater on Baskahegan Stream for all you thrill seekers. You believe that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you need a location to stay Scottish Inns Houlton is a brilliant       choice, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Potters Trail. The amount of rain that falls at Longfellow Lake is close to the national average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is February. During the summer highs here at Longfellow Lake reach the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's                  to Longfellow Lake.
