Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Moose River; close by you locate Barrows Cove. Long Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Caseys Spencer Bay Campground is a great local campground, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Kennebec River - West Outlet. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! Long Pond is peerless! Dry warm beds       await you at Lodge at Moosehead Lake, and going for a hike on the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is always a magnificent adventure. A pleasant place to camp here at Long Pond is Seboomook wilderness Campground, and do check out West Outlet Dam if you're here. High temperatures at Long Pond throughout the months of summer are in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows at Long Pond during the winter                  ordinarily plunge into the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. There are tremendous places to explore along the Intake Trail, and if you need a location to stay Bingham Motor Inn is a perfect choice.
