A normal amount of rainfall falls here at Long Pond; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is February. Long Pond is a great place to visit for more than one day, Chimney Pond Campground is a great place to camp nearby, and get wet paddling on Nesowadnehunk Stream. At Long Pond you can catch a sight of Russell Mountain, and swing by Annis Brook it's a delightful place to go to.       This is a good vicinity for folks who like lakes. Upper South Branch Pond is a lake in the vicinity, and whitewater paddling is magnificent on Nesowadnehunk Stream River. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Long Pond. If you're addicted to cool geologic marks, try Snub Pitch, and Long Pond is right by the Old Pogy Road. This lake is so wonderful. Throughout the warm days of summer, highs generally are in the 70's at Long Pond; the                  nighttime is somewhat chillier of course, frequently in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Long Pond are in the-10's. Dry warm beds await you at Katahdin Inn, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Howe. This lake is so wonderful.
