Eaton Mountain is a very popular ski area in the vicinity, and if you need a spot to stay Winthrop Motel is a pleasant choice. Long Pond is right by the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this spot. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Titcomb; Long Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at,       Great Pond Campground is a fine local campground. Summertime at Long Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and the night is a little colder of course, commonly in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; overnight lows in the 0's for Long Pond. Don't forget to take a perfect little trip to Ingham Stream, and Pinewold Point is not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. One of the dominant characteristics of the surroundings                  of Long Pond is Blueberry Hill; get covered with water paddling on Cobbosseecontee Stream. You could also check out Great Pond if you're here at Long Pond; it's nearby, and at Long Pond you always meet someone from Augusta-Waterville.
