A quick journey to Clearwater Brook in the neighborhood of Long Pond is a great idea, and there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Arnold Pond Trail. So much exciting stuff to do here at Long Pond, too glorious to be true. While you're here at Long Pond, you could also stop at stunning Bag Pond, and camping at Cathedral Pines Camping Area is always a delightful experience. | | at Long Pond, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Long Pond fall into the-10's. Long Pond gets a normal amount of yearly precipitation; through the month of July you get the most rain around here while February is mostly the driest month. day you can take a hike along the Morrell Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Saddleback has nice slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Chain of Ponds in close proximity to Long Pond, it's a beautiful
lake; going for a hike on the Arnold Trail is always a good adventure. There are some delightful whitewater spots on Dead River - North Branch; a great site close by is Delaware Gap. The view of Bag Pond Mountain from Long Pond is delightful, and a glorious site to camp here at Long Pond is Black Arrow Lodge.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
