Many people like to go to Long Pond. Stay the night at Cathedral Pines Camping Area, and there are fine sites to explore along the Arnold Pond Trail. Skiing at Saddleback is one of those things you just must do; there's some flowing water close by, Clearwater Brook is a stream you can go to while you're here. Any time is a pleasant time at Long Pond if you go for the outdoors. The summit of Bag Pond Mountain can be seen from Long Pond; close by you hit upon pleasant

There's so much to do here at Long Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Black Arrow Lodge is a great place for that, and you can go for a hike on the Arnold Trail. An average amount of rainfall falls at Long Pond; most of the rain falls all through July while February is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at nearby Bag Pond. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Morrell Trail is always a nice adventure. Summer at Long Pond comes with high temperatures in the 70's; during
summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are usually in the 20's, and overnight lows in the-10's for Long Pond. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on
Cupsuptic River, and naturally, this is a pleasant neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Chain of Ponds is a lake around here.

 | 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
