While you're here at Long Pond you can take a hike along the Arnold Pond Trail, and good skiing awaits you at Saddleback. A beautiful lake like Beaver Pond next to Long Pond is a delightful spot to take a look at. If you came to camp Cupsuptic Campground is a great location to do that; if you come at the right time of year, Dead River - North Branch offers some tremendous whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. During the winter highs are in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the-10's to Long Pond.  | 12 miles away 2 PHOTOS I've been visiting Bugeye Pond for as long as I've been alive as my family owns one of the two camps on it and I've always found it to be a very pristine and relaxing place. Aside from snowmobile noise in the winter and traffic on route 27, I would have to say it is the most gorgeous place in Maine. As for the fishing, I haven't been there since I actually began fishing so I can't really attest to that. My parents were up there this past weekend and said there were people on the pond all weekend long, but they never saw anybody land a brookie despite the abundant rises.... |
